What We Believe

The mission statement of the worldwide United Methodist Church:
The mission of the Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Our mission statement:
We are passionately united to feed all people — body, mind and spirit — to the glory of God!

United Methodist Christians believe that our God is a God of grace, who intends all persons to know and love God, and to receive the gift of eternal life.

We believe that, through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God has forgiven our sins and saved us from sin and death.

We believe that God’s Spirit guides us toward holiness – seeking the life of perfect love  expressed in these words of Jesus:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27).

Holiness of heart and life means that a Christian must resist evil, seek justice, and live in peace. Faith must be lived out in every relationship and every decision.
